After our first experience of someone from the Stillpoint community dying, we were led to plant a lilac bush in her memory. This was the beginning of our Garden of Mercy. Over the past several years a new plant/flower has been added to this Sacred Space in memory of those in our community and/or their loved ones both human and nonhuman.
After Fr Thomas Keating’s death in 2018, we planted a small holly tree to honor his life and as an expression of gratitude for the rich gift of his teachings on Centering Prayer.
Our most recent planting is in remembrance of all who died of COVID.
